A Few Things About Joe Bielinski...
Joe Bielinski, "The Mayor", has lived country music just about all of his life. Born in the early 60's when traditional country music was still very much alive, Joe was brought up in the small Texas town of Mingus where his parents owned and operated a thriving dancehall called The Trio Club for over 40 years. Bielinski played drums in the house band there for about 12 years, went on the road for about 3 years, and then landed what he calls his "Gift From Heaven Job" in 1991, a radio show host position. His show is now in its 16th year and airs every Sunday from Noon to 5 PM featuring "hard-core" traditional country music, great interviews with many country legends, and even live performance flashbacks from the stage of The Grand Ole Opry! Bielinski's extremely wide playlist is to be expected as he arguably has the largest country record collection in the USA now numbering over 45,000 records! Also, as an interesting side note and an explanation for the origin for his nickname "The Mayor", Bielinski served as the Mayor of his hometown of Mingus for 8 years and is listed in the Texas Almanac as one of the youngest mayors in the history of Texas having been elected by a write-in vote at the ripe ol' age of 20 while he was still attending college at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. Today, Joe and his wife Samantha still live in Mingus. For a good, solid dose of "real" country music, tune in every Sunday afternoon on 92.1 KTFW for Joe Bielinski's Classic Country Review. You won't be disappointed...
